Prof John Kilner is B.C.H. Steele Chair of Energy Materials at the Department of Materials of ICL. He authored over 400 papers on transport in oxide materials and holds 8 patents. He has pioneered the use of isotopic gas/solid exchange and the use of surface analytical techniques to study oxygen exchange kinetics in ceramic materials. He is one of the founders of Ceres Power Ltd and holds the post of group leader in ceramic electrolytes at CIC Energigune in Vitoria, Spain and is a Principal Investigator and Visiting Professor in the International Institute for Carbon Neutral Energy Research (I2CNER) in Kyushu University, Japan.
