Dr. Brecht Put is researcher and project leader in the Electrochemical Storage (EStore) team at imec. His main expertise lays in solid state physics and electrochemistry, specifically in its use in electrochemical storage and thin film characterization. Dr. Put received his PhD in Science (Physics) at KU-Leuven (Belgium) in 2015 working on solid-state batteries and specifically on properties of LiPON thin-films, in collaboration with prof. Philippe Vereecken from KUL and imec. He then spent 1.5 years in the Netherlands as a postdoctoral associate in the department of Applied Physics at TU Eindhoven (2015-2016) working on Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) of LiPON solid electrolytes. Dr. Put subsequently joined Imec as a researcher in the Electrochemical storage team. His scientific interests are found in the combination of solid state device physics, nanomaterials and electrochemistry. The main focus currently lays on the development of solid-state lithium ion batteries. Dr. Put has authored and co-authored more than 10 scientific publications. In the last 6 years, Dr. Put published 11 papers in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Put is also supervisor in the Horizon2020 project HYCOAT which ends in December 2021.
